De-thatching a lawn helps bring the lawn alive by removing old, dead debris, cutting old stolons and rhizomes. I would recommend doing this in the spring. Some benefits to de-thatching are: Helps stimulate root growth Removes barrier so fertilizer and water can reach roots Helps protect your lawn against disease. A Spring clean-up consists of de-thatching and complete clean-up of leaves and debris from lawn and landscape. April is Spring cleanup time, usually starting late in the first week of April and running three or so weeks: depending on the weather. We will run with an extended crew if necessary to complete all Spring cleanups on a timely basis. Overseeding is also recommended at this time.
Generally a cleanup starts with blowing out landscaped areas and then:
- Dethatching
- Blowing Areas
- Loading and disposing into the trailer for hauling
